Program Features

Built into the program is an on-going focus on the role of a manager, particularly in the public sector, consideration of where students want to be in the future, and how they might best develop the skills needed to achieve those goals. Focus is on the following skill sets:

Integrated Approach
- PSM utilizes the cohort model in which a group of students moves through the program as a unit, starting and finishing at the same time.
- Courses are presented in a predetermined sequence.
- Each succeeding course builds upon earlier course subject matter.
- Development of students' ability to handle real-life challenges with professional and conceptual sophistication is promoted by linking skills and expertise course to course with increasing intensity and depth.
Student-Centered
- Faculty members are committed to guiding and mentoring students, helping them in their career planning, and assisting them to complete the degree.
- PSM provides a high level of student support and on-going attention to students' needs.
- Through use of the cohort model, enrollment is guaranteed in all classes.
- The cohort model, in and of itself, provides mutual support of students for one another, both academically and professionally.
