Professor Luis Echeverria

Professor Echeverria was born in Peru, and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Lima. He earned his M.S. in Engineering Management from CSUN. He currently works in the Aerospace Industry as a Project Quality Engineer. His experience include Quality Engineering, Material Review Board (MRB), and Advance Quality Practices, laser measurements and techniques, process improvement, etc. He has been a Certified Quality Engineer since 1983 by the American Society of Quality and is a member of the Board for such institution for the San Fernando Valley section. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Professor Ghassan “Gus” H. Elias

Professor Elias earned both his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from CSUN. He is simultaneously employed as a full-time Materials Control & Product Safety Certification Manager at Moore Industries-International, and as Assistant Professor / Academic Director of the Engineering Management On-Line Program. Gus initiates and executes industrial safety certification projects, and maintains the high quality of all material used in the design and manufacturing of process instrumentation for use in classified and potentially explosive atmospheres. Gus is an associate member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), and the Society for the Advancement of Materials and Processing Engineers (SAMPE). He is fluent in Arabic and English.

Professor Hamid Gholami

Professor Gholami has earned a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Mechanical Engineering from East Tennessee State University, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from CSUN, and an M.S. in Engineering Management from CSUN. He has over 16 years of experience in aerospace product design and manufacturing process design. He is certified in the use of UNIGRAPHICS, SDRC I-DEAS, CATIA V5, SOLID WORKS, and COSMOS 3D CAD software: all products which help companies achieve a competitive edge. His consulting firm, Oxford Engineering, offers seminars improving the effectiveness of engineers and engineering managers, and he simultaneously teaches in the B.S. Manufacturing Systems Engineering and the M.S. Engineering Management programs. He is fluent in Farsi and English.

Dr. Ahmad Sarfaraz

Professor Sarfaraz earned his B.S. in Industrial and Management Science from Allameh Tabatabie University in Iran, an M.A. in Economics and an M.S. in MIS and Decision Science from Middle Tennessee State University, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University. His current research focuses on operations research, statistical analysis, AHP applications, and economic analysis. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications for ASEE and SME and other publications, and he presents work at conferences. His industry and consulting experience includes facilities planning, lean manufacturing, systems analysis, expert systems, and operations modeling. Professor Sarfaraz received the Engineer’s Council Merit Award in 2002 and 2005, and he is the Director of the MSEM Solutions Center and Facilities-VEDC community service learning. He is fluent in Farsi and English.

Professor David Shternberg

Professor Shternberg earned his B.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and his M.S. in Engineering Management from CSUN. A faculty member since 2003, he brings us over 25 years of aerospace experience. Professor Shternberg was involved in Oracle implementations of Work in Process (WIP), Bills of Material (BOMs), MRP/ERP system modules, new program development, engineering staff training, manufacturing engineering, production lines, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement operations. He has managed improvements of on time delivery and first pass yield by performing cost reduction Kaizan events. Presently, Professor Shternberg is employed as General Manager at Maintco Corporation, and simultaneously he works as an Assistant Professor at CSUN. He is fluent in Hebrew and English.

Professor Scott Wainess

Professor Wainess earned his Bachelor of Science degree from CSUN in Business Administration, studying the option of Production and Operations Management. He earned his M.S. in Manufacturing Systems and Engineering Management at CSUN, graduating with distinction. He has worked in manufacturing industries for over 25 years in a variety of positions, including technical support, engineering, and operations management. His operations management-oriented position contains a wide variety of tasks and contributions, requiring the use of Financial and Cost analysis techniques to make decisions throughout the work week. He is simultaneously employed at domnick Hunter Advanced Filtration, and he teaches in our B.S. Manufacturing Systems Engineering and our M.S. Engineering Management programs here at CSUN.
