How to Apply

Now that you have decided to get your master’s in educational leadership and are ready to enroll in our Distance Learning ELPS program, getting started is simple.

As a participant in the DL ELPS program you will be provided a full range of academic resources and support services to assist you, beginning with the application and admission process – all are accessible without having to visit the CSUN campus.

Requirements for Admission to the Program

Applying for admission to the DL ELPS program requires providing verification that you have:

  1. Satisfied at least one of the following:
    • an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0,

    • or
    • a passing score (50th percentile or higher) in one of the three areas of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE),

    • or
    • a raw score of 50 or better on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
  2. Before completing your first 12 units of DL ELPS coursework, passed the Upper Division Writing Proficiency Exam (UDWPE), a one-hour proctored essay test

The Application Process

To apply for application to the DL ELPS program take the following steps:

  1. Complete and submit the online DL ELPS Program application. Click here to apply now
  2. Complete the University Application for Graduate Admissions. Click here for the Application (.pdf)
  3. Obtain two official transcripts in sealed envelopes from each college or university previously attend
  4. Secure two letters of recommendation from practicing school administrators indicating potential for administrative leadership in sealed envelopes
  5. When you have all your transcripts and letters of recommendation, mail them (sealed) with your signed University Application for Graduate Admissions and the $55 application fee (a check made payable to California State University, Northridge) to the address below:
