Overview of the Distance Learning Masters Degree

Program Features

  • Will meet all accreditation standards
  • Is asynchronous to university calendar
  • Requires 36 continuous months for completion
  • Cohort will include 20-30 students
  • Students progress through program in lockstep manner
  • Provides online technology with local clinical practica
  • Allows students to remain employed (either part-time or full-time)
CDS Distance Program Faculty

Instructional Program

  • Same curriculum as residential program, but online.
  • Library and bookstore services available
  • Provides Distance Learning coordinator for administration and advisement
  • Program is delivered through computer, modem, ISP, CD player and video tape.  For equipment required click here.
  • Student must fulfill requirements of clinical practica (400 clock hours with no more than 75 clinic and program)
  • Practica supervisors must have ASHA CCC and current ASHA membership


Contribution Needed from Employers or Affiliated Facility

  • Provide supervisor who will meet requirements
  • Provide supervision which will meet requirements
  • Allow time for supervisor and students to meet supervisor requirement
