Guest Speaker: Dr.
Henriette Langdon
Dr. Langdon has 29 years experience working with CLD students and their families. Her expertise began with writing her dissertation entitled "Determining a Language Disorders in a Bilingual Spanish-English Speaking Population" completed at Boston University in 1977. Since then she has written articles and books, on topics of bilingualism and language-learning disabilities as well as collaboration with interpreters and translators in assessing and working with CLD populations. She has made numerous presentations locally, nationally and, recently internationally on these topics.
Her last books are published by Thinking Publications " Collaborating with Interpreters and Translators: A guide for Communication Disorders Professionals (with Lilly Cheng), a manual for the Interpreter entitled Interpreters and Translators in Communication Disorders: A Practitioner's Handbook. A video which she produced with ASHA entitled Working with Interpreters to Serve Bilingual Children and Families will be available some time this year for CEUs.
Dr. Langdon speaks Polish, Spanish, French and English.
