CDS Technology Requirements
To participate in the
online courses you will need a computer with the following specifications:
Minimum System Requirements for Windows:
- Microsoft XP or Vista operating system
- Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007
- Internet Explorer and/or Mozilla Firefox web browser
- Most current version of Flash Player
- Most current version of Acrobat Reader
- Up-to-date anti-virus software
- 1.5 GHz Processor
- 1 GB RAM for XP or Vista Home Basic
- 2 GB RAM for Vista Home Premium/Business/Ultimate
- 128 MB of graphics memory for Vista Home Premium/Business/Ultimate
- Screen resolution set to 1024x768 or higher
- DVD-ROM drive
- USB or Firewire Web Cam (Logitech recommended)
- USB Headset (Logitech recommended)
- Accessible USB ports to plug in USB flash drives, webcams, microphones, etc.

- Internet access from a reliable ISP with live technical support and a high-speed connection, such as DSL or Cable
- Reliable personal e-mail account
- Document Scanner (with compatible software able to save to PDF, GIF, or JPEG format)
- Fax machine (must be able to send faxes—does not have to be a dedicated fax number)
